Introduction

Welcome to the World Wide Web!

Our mission is to produce dynamic geometry textbook web pages that will provide an overview of the geometry that we have studied in introductory geometry.  We will take advantage of JavaSketchpad to animate our learning.   Feel free to check out our current sketches.  Your assignment to is to add to the dynamic textbook.

The Task

The end result of your activities will be a class web site that reviews the fundamentals of this course in a creative and cooperative way.  Not only will you benefit from this, but anyone who uses the web can benefit from your work.  You should be able to defend your choices and clearly explain all of your pages.  This will be presented to the class with the projector hooked to the computer.

The "Suggested"Process

1.   Design sketches (you may use sketches that we've drew throughout the year) using the software.

2.   Save them to one disk.

3.   Convert your files to HTML using Geometer's Sketchpad's HTML Convertor.

4.   Decide individually or as a group what you want the web pages to look like.

5.   Insert your files into a Power point presentation.

6.   Last minute corrections with Sketchpad.

7.   Finish adding text, clipart, pictures (if time permits).

8.     Prepare a 5 –10 minute presentation about your project.  Teach the class some of the basics of what you have learned and design a quick problem for a volunteer to practice (Don’t pick a goof ball).  DO NOT READ BORING PARAGRAPHS TO THE CLASS!  Discuss it like you know what you are talking about!  Use several visual aids to help the class understand the topic.

Evaluation

You will be evaluated as a group.  The fundamental objective and the majority of your grade are based on the quality of geometry and completeness of your presentation.
